Prototyping Using 3D Printing

Time and program of individual meetings will be specified in September.

We will focus on 3D modeling, designing, and manufacturing a prototype of a remotely controlled vehicle using 3D printing, all within the context of ongoing research. We will start with the basics of 3D modeling in Autodesk Inventor. We will learn how to export data for 3D printing and set up a 3D printer. We will create a prototype of a remote-controlled car from modeled parts and assemble it into a functional unit. The vehicle will be tested to ensure it meets the requirements.

The program includes:

• A tour of the FSI facilities, where we will visit laboratories and workshops, and you will get acquainted with technical student projects such as Formula Student, Pneumobil, and Chicken Wings.
• A total of 20 hours of meetings and work in the laboratory,
• A mini-course on presentation skills,
• A final STEAM Slam – presentations of work and meetings with SOČ winners, researchers, Ph.D. students,
• A certificate of completion – which can be added to the student ePortfolio at https://www.startid.cz/,
• The possibility of continuing with work in SOČ,
• Participation is FREE.
