About the project
My project focuses on studying the role of the transcription factor FoxO1 in regulating the signaling pathway of the B-cell receptor (BCR) in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The potential impact of FoxO1 activity on the expression of certain BCR signalosome components and the surface receptor itself could be linked to the development of CLL cell adaptation to therapeutics, as well as to the severity of the disease. This makes FoxO1 an intriguing potential target for combination therapy.
Why science?
I became passionate about science because it constantly pushes me forward. While the outcome of scientific research may often be nothing more than a Cimrman-esque 'Not this way, my friends!', the key is finding a way out of these dead ends. This is achieved through creativity, collaboration with fellow scientists, and gaining new knowledge and skills – and that’s what I truly enjoy.
What do I like most about Brno
What I love most about Brno is its culture, gastronomy, and the perfect blend of village-like and big-city life. I also can’t overlook the excellent opportunities it offers in education, science, and research.
