Utilizing artificial intelligence for EEG analysis and epileptic seizure forecasting
Lector: prof. MUDr. Milan Brázdil, Ph.D.
Institution: Masaryk University, Faculty of Medicine
Field: Neurosciences
About the project
My project focuses on using artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically localize epileptic seizure onset zones in intracranial EEG data and forecasting of epileptic seizures. Such a technique has the potential to provide deeper insights into EEG signals which can be hidden in routine visual EEG inspection. Ultimately, I would like to utilize such a method to advance the diagnostics process of pharmacoresistant epilepsy.
Why science?
I am interested in computer science and neurophysiology. For this reason, I have chosen to study neuroscience. I want to connect those fields and utilize modern techniques from artificial intelligence and machine learning to explore the mysteries of the human brain. I believe that modern AI techniques have significant potential to improve the current state of the art of neurology research.
What do I like most about Brno
During my career, I had a chance to work and study in the USA and Germany. Such international experiences gave me a unique chance to conduct high-quality research. I believe Brno provides excellent scientific facilities that allow conducting the same quality research with international impact.
