Pushing the resolution limits in neural interfaces: 3D-vertical Organic Electrochemical Transistor for Bioelectronics
Lector: Imrich Gablech
Institution: Brno University of Technology, CEITEC VUT
Field: Advanced Materials and Nanosciences
About the project
This project aims to improve upon the latest trends in the state of the art of vertical organic electrochemical transistors (vOECTs) and create an enhanced device with superior parameters for bioelectronics signal recording and processing. The project’s goal is to create high-performance vOECTs with outstanding transconductance and high cut-off frequency. The vOECTs will be integrated into arrays on both flexible and rigid substrates suitable for in vitro and in vivo recording applications.
Why science?
I find science and research very fascinating. Studying at CEITEC BUT gives me an opportunity to be there for the whole process, from the idea, over the design, to the fabrication and characterization of a device itself. I strive to be a valuable team member of the research group, contributing to solving current technological problems in the field of bioelectronics. My intention is to work on creating new knowledge with a clear translation to applications in biomedical research.
What do I like most about Brno
Although I’m not from Brno originally, I grew to love this impactful city. Brno has a solid academic base, as many significant universities are located there. I’m also proud that Brno is the center of technological advancement, both in material and life sciences. From the point of spending free time, gastronomy and the nature close to the city are its main strengths.
