Study of origin, plasticity, and mechanical forces of fibroblasts in mammary gland development

About the project
Development of new breast cancer therapies requires characterization of the mammary gland microenvironment. My project focuses on fibroblasts, a remarkable cell type of mammary stroma. I will use transgenic mouse models, 3D organoid co-culture techniques, state-of-the-art imaging approaches, histological and molecular biology analyses to investigate fibroblast origin and plasticity, and mechanisms, through which fibroblasts control development and homeostasis of the mammary gland.
Why science?
In ten years from now, I would like to have PhD title and research experience from abroad. Finally, it would be great, if I could go back to Slovakia and contribute to progress of science there, however for now, the (potilical) situation is not very convenient.
What do I like most about Brno
Goats from Goat garden in Medlánky, deers in deer-park Holedná, bisons at Mniší hora.
