Synthesis of molecular switches functionalised by stable radical substituents

About the project
The project deals with the preparation of hydrazone-based switches substituted with stable radicals. These systems provide a combination of magnetic properties of radicals and conformational changes of hydrazone functional group which can be controlled by an external stimulus (pH, temperature, etc). Conformational change leads to distance change between spin centers of biradical and thus we can investigate pH or temperature changes in tissues. This could lead to progress in medicinal diagnosis.
Why science?
After finishing my Ph.D. studies I would like to extend my knowledge, skills and get more experienced as a postdoc. Thus, be capable of leading own multidisciplinary research group in a technological company or university.
What do I like most about Brno
The City of Brno offers many great work opportunities in the field of technology. Also, I like the atmosphere and cultural life in Brno.
