Ceramic bioreactors and scaffolds
Lector: David Salamon

Field: Advanced materials and nanosciences
About the project
Bioceramic scaffolds are mechanically stable and the degradation of the material can be tailored by chemical or phase composition. Novel shaping techniques such as freeze-casting allows design of long microchannels in the highly porous scaffold. Microchannels incorporated in bioreactors (2D) and scaffolds (3D) will promote the function of small cell unit on long distance (neural cells in the spine). Microchannel dimensions and chemical compositions will induce the cell response.
Why science?
I would like to stay in the research of advanced ceramics, in the Czech Republic or abroad.
What do I like most about Brno
Brno is very dynamic and modern city, full of interesting sites. You can find here anything you want.
