Molecular and functional analysis of casein kinase 1 biology

About the project
The Casein kinase 1 (CK1) family of Ser/Thr kinases consists in human of seven functionally disputable isoforms. These are significant regulators of multiple developmental and cancer associated pathways such as Wnt, Hh and YAP/TAZ. My project will define the unique as well as shared functions of individual CK1 isoforms through their depletion, functional tests and proximity labeling studies, and establish biochemical readouts for the development of CK1 isoform-specific inhibitors by our group.
Why science?
Within 10 years I would like to have successfully completed PhD studies and at least two Postdoc positions at foreign institutions with enough experience to set up my own research group.
What do I like most about Brno
What I like about Brno is its student spirit which keeps the city dynamic and young. I also like that Brno is still evolving and provides many possibilities to spend free time.
