New systems enabling in-situ electron microscopy of growth of nanostructures

About the project
Chemical vapor synthesis techniques have tremendous flexibility in producing a wide range of nanomaterials. However, ex-situ observation of the reaction products is not sufficient to truly understand the growth processes in detail which sometimes results in the difficulty to produce high quality nanomaterials. One of the main tasks in our research group for the following years is the development and optimization a reactor which will enable in-situ scanning electron microscopy of CVD synthesis.
Why science?
After finishing my PhD, I would like to keep my focus on the advances in the field of electron microscopy, either in academia or in a company. I can imagine myself as a leader of a small group of students which focuses purely on in-situ electron microscopy.
What do I like most about Brno
I like the expanding job opportunities and the slow lifestyle which is still preserved in Brno.
